About Us
Mano-a-Mano Philippines is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that serves those in need by donating medical equipment and supplies and by providing volunteer medical care.
Mano-a-Mano Philippines was founded by Dr. Lorna Bayes in 2018 in the aftermath of conducting a medical and surgical mission in the Philippines. They were strongly affected by what they saw as a widespread lack of basic medical care and an urgent need for items that are often taken for granted in developed countries.
They resolved to use their skills, expertise, and network of kind-hearted individuals to help address the issues faced by those in need. Since its inception, Mano-a-Mano has facilitated the donations of equipment and supplies to thirteen countries and conducted medical and surgical missions to Haiti and the Philippines. These efforts included emergency responses to humanitarian crises in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and 2013's Super Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.
Mano-a-Mano Philippines is based in the New York Metropolitan area and has volunteers from around the world.
